In 1997 our business started with the installation of one mussel growing line and two mussel rafts, which provided us with our first harvest of 49 tonnes in 2000.

Continual re-investment, sheer perseverance and drive, has meant that the business has grown from our initial two sites to holding 18 of the best mussel growing sites in Scotland.

As a result, we have outgrown our processing facility twice!  We are now in our third premises.

Facts:

• In 2008/2009 we grew 1,333 tonnes of mussels - as well as providing a grading service for 1,060 tonnes from other farms.
• The total Scottish production is 5,700 tonnes.

We currently operate the largest rope-grown mussel farm in the UK.
